Surf Mesa Teams Up with FLETCHER and Josh Golden In New Dance Track ‘Another Life’

The first song that comes to mind when you hear the name Surf Mesa is probably ‘ily’ (i love you baby), the artist’s first Platinum record that dominated the music (and TikTok) scene in 2019. The single sampled Frankie Valli’s 1967 song ‘Can’t Take My Eyes off You’ and instantly became an international hit.

The 21-year-old artist has done it again with his latest release, ‘Another Life,’ featuring singers FLETCHER and Josh Golden. The song starts with FLETCHER’s soft vocals as she sings about a relationship they didn’t properly put to rest. In response to FLETCHER, Golden takes over in the second verse before their voices unite by the end of the track to finish out the rhythmic duet.

In a press release statement, Surf Mesa commented on the collaboration:

I’ve been a fan of FLETCHER since I first heard her record ‘Bitter’ with my friend Kito and Josh Golden is a rising star in the modern alternative space. I’m inspired and grateful to have two of my favorite vocalists collaborating with me on this track. Hearing them harmonize gives me the chills.

FLETCHER, the New Jersey-based artist, is known for her raw and fearless lyrics layered on top of addictive electronic and pop beats, which FLETCHER perfectly executed in her debut album ‘THE S(EX) TAPES.’ Conversely, she can equally conquer slower-paced, honest tracks such as ‘Healing,’ her latest single that dropped in June of 2021. She has previously collaborated with artists such as Kito, Trevor Daniel, and Duncan Laurence.

Josh Golden is a singer-songwriter who began releasing his music on YouTube and MySpace back in 2008. He has recently signed to Artist Partner Group, where he has released his first tracks under the label along with collaborations with other artists.

Mesa’s single ‘Another Life’ is accompanied by a visualizer which features the three individuals posing for photos in various settings. You can also hear three of Mesa’s tracks in the soundtrack of Netflix’s latest romantic comedy, ‘He’s All That,’ starring Addison Rae.
